It is an intriguing thing

being rootless at such a young age.

That is not to say that I did not start out with roots

but I was ripped away in circumstances out of my control.

Adoption will do that to you.

It can disconnect you from who you are

and leave you spiraling.

You can be freefalling all your life

and never realize.

But once you see you are plummeting towards the ground

there is no unknowing.
